In September, I was back on wards, and Aaron was on teaching service at the VA about 45 minutes outside of town. So, we were both having long days and covering lots of weekend days. Are you starting to pick up on a theme from this past year? We work a lot. A lot a lot a lot.
I won't bore you with the details about our work month.
Instead, below are some highlights from some of the fun from the month. Because there's always fun, every month, no matter what. Always.

| The downtown library closed for renovations, so the library system opened a temporary library downtown. We attended the opening day party. (Because we're nerds like that.) Here's Julia with a clown (who looked to me like someone we went to undergrad with?? Such a mystery). |

| Aaron was working, but Julia and I went to the family day at the museum in September! Here's Julia's wire sculpture! I later cut off part of one of these wires, stripping each end, and used it to connect a circuit in our washing machine when it broke, based on a video I found online. I was so proud of myself until it stopped working again a few weeks later. I opened up the machine again, and saw that the wire was burned and disconnected, so I grabbed the wire, forgetting that I hadn't unplugged the machine. Whoops. I electrocuted myself. I called my dad, crying. I'd looked on a medical database and was kinda afraid to go to sleep that night, fearing an arrhythmia (kind of a hypochondriac like that). Note to self (and to you readers): just leave your kid's art alone. Don't disassemble it to try to DIY when you're not qualified to do it yourself. Okay? Okay. (By the way, my dad later came by and fixed it for us. Thanks, Dad.) |
