May Kansas Trip - Ordination

At the end of May, we took a trip to Kansas to visit Aaron's family. Stephen was back from Chicago, so we were all together.

Excited to be in Kansas!

We were blessed to attend the priestly ordination of one of Aaron's best friends, Rickey. We had been fortunate to be at his ordination to the diaconate the previous May. It was so incredible to see someone our age getting ordained a priest! We also got to attend Fr. Rickey's first mass at his home parish (the parish Aaron grew up at, too), which was amazing. The Eucharist was consecrated by Fr. Rickey, in persona Christi. Wow! We enjoyed getting to catch up with Fr. Rickey and some of Aaron's high school friends at the receptions following the masses.

This was the bishop's final mass in the diocese - he had been transferred to a different diocese and left directly after the ordination mass!

We were fortunate to meet up with Aaron's Aunt Karen and cousin Eric for lunch while they were in town.
