Mothers' Day 2013

Mothers' Day 2013 was, of course, bittersweet. I was still in mourning, but I was also, consequently, ever so much more in awe of the gift of Julia. It was a day of gratitude for both my children, one on earth that I am blessed to hold and one in heaven who blesses me with prayer.

We went to mass together in the morning. In the afternoon, we took a trip to the local aquarium, which offered free admission to mothers, making it much more affordable than usual. It was fun to see Julia experiencing the beauty of God's ocean creations. In the evening, we celebrated my mom with dinner over at Meghan and Erik's house. It was a good day.
