September 2014

In September 2014, I was on a Pediatric Urgent Care rotation, which I really enjoyed. I loved all the physicians I worked with and their staff. I had a lot of autonomy, which helped me hone my confidence, and the high volume helped me hone my speed. I also loved the hours - 4 pm to midnight on the weekdays! That meant I got to spend a lot of time with Julia during the day, which was such a treat. The weekend shift was longer, but I only had to work one Saturday and one Sunday shift, which was awesome. Aaron was on oncology, which was also fairly chill, so it was a nice month for our family. Highlights of the month included a quick trip to Kansas to celebrate the wedding of a good friend of Aaron's from childhood, Greek Fest, the pumpkin patch, and the state fair (pics of that posted next). All in all, a great month!

Julia became so confident on even the more tricky parts of the playground in our neighborhood!

She was rocking the pigtails.

Julia started preschool in August at a local Catholic school. She loved preschool, her sweet teachers, and all her friends.

My little pirate.

Final days of summer

Julia loves hot chocolate.

Playing doctor in her scrubs.

The owl cup got dropped and broken :( One last photo before it went in the trash.
At the family picnic at Julia's school one evening.

I was a horrible photographer during this trip to Kansas... but this photo proves we were there! ;-)

I got to pick Julia up from school most days this month since I didn't have to be to work until 4 pm. We went out for a special after school snack one day :)

Enjoying the Greek Fest food!

This girl is serious about her baklava.

I got to attend Julia's race at school one morning! She was so fast!

Ignore my super annoying cheering in this video, please. Fun to see Julia win/tie (hard to tell, exactly) :-)

Getting her participation medal from her race.

So proud.

Family sushi night, followed by...

Family movie night!

Cutest bowler ever?

Library fun.

Enjoying inflatables at the pumpkin patch!

Julia got a bad rash after the pumpkin patch/corn maze, which I originally thought was insect bites from the corn maze. It ended up being pityriasis rosea, which was intensely itching for a couple weeks. Poor kid!
