In October, Aaron was on Cardiology. He had a great month because he loves cardiology (and is awesome at it ;-) ), but also because his hours were decent. I was on Pediatric ER that month, and it was, in all honesty, the most emotionally draining month of residency thus far. However, I did have quite a few days off, since I was doing shift work, so that part of the month was awesome.
We celebrated my twenty-sixth birthday a couple days early since I was working on my actual birthday. Elizabeth and Stephen came over for a rousing game of Awkward Family Photo, some Parks and Rec watching (hilarious), and
both of them independently brought over Braum's Chocolate Toffee Ice Cream :-) We also had an amazing trip to the
state fair and celebrated
Halloween. Little pleasures included some nice
cousin time and a trip to the local
art museum. Other little pleasures are featured below :-)

| I need to do a whole post sometime on the way that we redecorated Julia's bedroom! But, for now, I will include these tea party pictures! I finished the mushroom slip covers for her stools in October, and Julia wasted no time in setting up many a woodland tea pary :-) |

| After church on the morning of my birthday! | |
| One day I was off work, Julia and I went out for subs! Julia enjoyed the fireman hat that came with her meal. |
| Celebrating Erik's birthday! |
| Julia was so into these pickles Meghan had canned that she asked for some for breakfast one morning! Ha! |
| We also shared mugs of hot cocoa that morning. It's the simple things. :-) |
| Surgeon Julia. |
| One evening with friends, Julia and Blaise had an epic sword fight. |
| Zelie got in on the fun, too. |
| They were laughing so hard. It was adorable. |
| My tousle headed lady. |
