In December 2015, we celebrated
Julia's 5th birthday and
Christmas. Julia was adorable in her school Christmas music program. We took a day trip to visit our godson, Michael, and his family for his 4th birthday. A friend took some family photos for us. We had some fun times with family.
Aaron was on an elective and did pulmonology, which had great hours. I was on wards, so my hours were long, but I did have 5 days off for Christmas, which was an amazing gift on a busy month. I also got sick really early in the month with some horrible virus (guessing maybe adenovirus) and had to call in sick for the second time in residency. I felt so bad to call in sick, but I literally didn't have a voice, was having severe coughing fits into my mask in every patient room, and was crying pus from my pink eyes... so at a certain point, you just have to take care of yourself and also avoid spreading any more germs around the children's hospital. Starts to seem like poor form when you as the doctor seem sicker than your hospitalized patient X-P I stayed home for three days (including the day of Julia's Christmas program, which I crawled out of bed to attend... silver lining!) but I honestly felt awful for a whole lot longer than that. The cough was the kind that makes you cry and almost vomit and you just. can't. stop. coughing. and it lasted for a few more weeks. Fun times.

| Julia wore a jumper that my grandmother made for one of us! We had matching Christmas jumpers a few years, thanks to her seamstress wizardry. Julia looked precious in her jumper! |
| I think this photo and the couple below it are from when her class sang "Up on the Housetop," which includes the line "Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn't go?" I got some cute pictures of them saying, "Ho ho ho!" |
| Julia's cheering section! MC had just gotten glasses, so I'm sure she could see the concert much better than she could have a week or two prior. I'd noticed her squinting a lot and recommended Meghan get her into the eye doctor... and ended up being right! |
| I was home sick, which was the only way I got to be at this concert. And sick I truly was. I don't think you can tell looking at this picture, but I felt like death warmed over. |
| At Julia's favorite - Sushi Train :-) |
| A friend took some family photos for us, which was so appreciated! |
| My absolute favorite from the session. Julia, age 5. |
| Mall fun :-) |
| Julia's get well note to me: "Dear Momy I wunder wut if you or felling better. Love you berry much. I promise I will take care of you and I pray for you and someday u will hell [heal]." |
| We all got a photo with Santa during the children's hospital Christmas party for the kids. Great team! |
| Our godson's fourth birthday! |
| At the park with Daddy! (I can always tell by looking at what she's wearing... Aaron always has allowed for more free expression, whereas I make her wear sneakers to the park! Haha!) |
| What a gem. |
| After getting a couple magic sets for Christmas, Julia put on a lot of shows as the "Amazing Audrey." |
