Meghan's Baby Shower: Decorations

The decorations for this shower were 95% thanks to my mom. She spent a million years doing nursery rhyme themed scherenschnitte (the art of papercutting, literally German for "scissor cuts") that Kristin and I then glued to decorative cardstock and hung around Kristin's house using mini clothes pins.

Kristin sewed an adorable Mother Goose, which topped an adorable diaper cake, which sat in the center of a brown blanket "nest" on her kitchen table, which we called "Mother G's Nest of Gifts." Don't you love how "Mother G" can refer to Mother Goose or Meghan? Kristin is clever.

We decorated the mantle with Mother Goose nursery rhyme books, and framed some of the Hey Diddle Diddle scherenschnitte to hang above the the mantle.

We had a table of stuff for games. We had pink and blue envelopes for guests to guess girl or boy via their color choice, self-address them (so Meghan had pre-addressed thank you cards), and then we drew one later for a raffle. There was a nursery rhyme guessing game. There was a cotton ball estimation game, with a Baa, Baa Black Sheep theme. And, we also lined up the prizes on the table - Jack Be Nimble Candlesticks.
