October: Halloween

As I'd previously mentioned, for Halloween we dressed Julia up like a hobbit! Aaron and I figured it was our last year to dress her up as whatever we wanted, since she'll certainly have an opinion next year. We settled on hobbit in honor of her short stature (relative to us, not for her age), the movie coming out this year, the trio potential (Aragorn for Aaron, Galadriel for me), and her furry feet (just kidding on the last one).

I bought green crushed velvet, decorative hooks, and patterns, and sewed cloaks for Julia and Aaron. For myself, I borrowed the cloak I'd made for Sarah many moons ago. As I'd said in the earlier post, Julia loves her cloak. She dresses up in it and asks for "hobbit music" and loves swirling and twirling in her flowing cloak. She asks us to put on cloaks, too, and we all dance around the living room in them. It's probably a blackmail worthy scene. We are such goofballs.

On Halloween itself we dressed up and rang the doorbell at my parents' house. My dad was working, but my mom got a kick out of seeing Julia dressed up! Then, Julia ate some candy and helped my mom hand out candy until a couple boys dressed up as skeletons scared her. After that, she didn't want to answer the door, and every time the bell rang, she said, "The statue boys are scary!" Next, we went over to Meghan and Erik's house, and Julia delighted them with her costume.

Loving on her cousin!

I know, I know. Total goofballs!

So tuckered out!

For work at the children's hospital, our team dressed up as Hogwarts characters. I was a Ravenclaw since I didn't have the proper tie for my actual house, Griffindor. It was fun dressing up for work!

 We had a fun Halloween!
